1. Information We Collect
Patrons: You are anonymous! We only see the display name you choose to type in. We don’t track your GPS or raid your contacts.
DJs: We collect your email and your chosen display name. If you provide tipping handles, these are made public to allow patrons to send you money.
2. How We Use Data
Firebase & optional Analytics: We use Firebase to store requests. If you allow analytics, QJay records anonymous aggregate product outcomes to help improve the app; it does not send request text, song titles, or feedback comments as analytics events.
Optional Dance Alerts: If you enable notifications, Firebase stores a browser installation destination and your selected dance-alert settings so QJay can notify that device. The destination is private and is not shown to DJs or other patrons.
API Handshakes: We send "Now Playing" data to Last.fm and pull album art from iTunes/Spotify to make your queue look sharp.
3. Data Retention
The Queue: Requests live in the database until the DJ clears or archives them.
The Archive: Archived requests are kept until the DJ deletes them, much like a file on your own computer. You have the right to delete your data at any time.
Dance Alerts: Inactive browser registrations expire after about 30 days, pending alert choices after about 72 hours, and delivery records after about 7 days. Disabling alerts removes the active destination from QJay.
4. Third-Party Sharing
We don't sell your data. Period. We use service providers such as Google and Firebase to operate the app. If you choose to donate through Support the App, Ko-fi handles that donation on its own site.
5. Contact Us

Analytics choices
Analytics are optional and never change what you can do in QJay. Current choice: unknown.
